An ACE DAY OUT

Had a 'ACE DAY' OUT yesterday, a treat for my birthday which is now today.
Ashley & me set out from home at 6.48am & headed down the M18/A1 on route to Brampton Hut A1/A14 interchange where we were to meet up with John Lewis and my mate Phil. Ashley & me arrived at about 8.25am (106 miles not bad going) once inside Mcdonalds & hands round a hot cuppa tea to bring the fingers back life (Yes it was a very cool ride down).
Phil & then John turned up, we had a good old natter & a few more beverages, took a few photos then Ashley, me & Phil headed for the Ace Cafe London, John was off over to Cambridge to see some friends of his.
After getting petrol in Stevenage at a Tesco ( bit of a Joke there it was )we soon got down to the A406 North Circular and Bingo within 10 Min's we arrived at our destination The Ace Cafe.
This place has got alot of history behind it dating back to the 1930's Rockers & Mods etc.
We spent 2 hours here having a drink & a bite to eat, take some photo's & buy some bits & bobs (it would be Rude not too you know ).
Back on the A406 & Hell was it busy back to the M1, once back on the Motorway & heading North we came off at J 9 and rode the A5 up through Dunstable, Milton Keynes & up to Towcester were we stopped at the Harley D dealer for a look around then grabbed some fuel and another cuppa before continuing back up the A5 to J 20 M1 via Crick.
Very windy on the way back but made good progress and arrived back home approx 18.53hrs, covered 348 miles in total, the bike will soon be due its 6000 mile service..

Saturday 4-9-2010

Had a little trip out today with the wife and met up with a work mate who lives's down at Lichfield, we all met up at Clay Cross Powersports.
After a coffee and a walk around there rather expensive Bike showroom we headed off towards Chesterfield, the Traffic was Murder, eventually we landed at our destination of The Cat & Fiddle pub after getting fuel near Buxton.
Not that many people here today but worth a visit just to see the view's from the pub of the surrounding country side.
We departed for home, Phil went down the A54 towards his neck of the wood's and we set off for SMC in Sheffield to look for some Bike Bottom's for the wife (but still had no luck).
The weather was very good all day for the ride.
